Tattoo Boy

Here he is.....Mark Eason Mizell, III. By the looks of the picture below, you would think Eason likes to be clean cut, neat, and put together. This is not true. When Eason gets older he has informed Mark and I that he is going to have "millions" of tattoos, ride a motorcycle, live all by himself and have thousands of dogs. This brings us to the title of the post. If you look closely, you can see the remnants of several tattoos on Eason's left arm. To love tattoos is an understatement. This child LOVES tattoos. Every Friday (and we have had to agree on just one day a week) Eason gets to buy a tattoo from his elementary school P.E. teachers as an ongoing fund-raiser.
One of the main reasons why I decided to blog was to remember the funny things my children say. So, here goes the conversation between Eason and I this weekend while driving to downtown Decatur, AL.

Eason: Hey mom, there is a tattoo place. (He knows this because he can read just about

anything now.)

Mom: Yep, sure is.

Eason: Will you drop me off there so I can get a REAL tattoo?

Mom: No way, you have to be 18 years old to get those. (I don't know if this is really true, but

that was the best I could come up with right then.)

Eason: Then will you take me there when I'm 18?

Mom: Not then either. I don't like tattoos.......especially on my sweet little boy.

Eason: (After a short pause.....) Mom, it's not like you can just jump into my life.

Mom: What do you mean by that, Eason?

Eason: You know, you can't be one of those people that think you can just jump into my life and

tell me how to make my decisions. Just because you don't like tattoos doesn't mean that

I don't!!!

Mom: (At this point, what do you say? The 6 year old has won yet another argument!)

What will the post high-school years be like for us? I am afraid I don't want to know!!!!!

Another brother???

This past weekend we had the opportunity of keeping one of my best friends' babies, Sawyer Williams. Ashley (Brown) Williams' grandmother passed away Friday morning. We kept Baby Sawyer for her Saturday, so he wouldn't have to do the whole funeral thing. Eason and Coleman LOVED it. They thought Sawyer was the best thing EVER!!! Coleman played the "little momma" role. He fed him Cheerios, cleaned up spit-up, showed him all of his tractors, and sang "Fruit Salad" and "Hot Potato" to him over and over and over again. (Sorry, Brown, if we've made Baby Sawyer into a Wiggles fan.)

The pictures look as though Sawyer didn't know what to think about 2 big boys. But he had a GREAT time.........I promise!

He also got to hear the Mizell version of "Take me out to the ballgame........" He enjoyed that, too. Eason has been asking for another brother for quite some time now. He has been specifically asking for a brother from China. I have no idea where that came from......but that is what he wants. After keeping Sawyer he has now decided he wants a Chinese brother and a brother like Sawyer. Whew.........I don't know about either one?

Mr. and Mrs. Mark E. Mizell, Jr.

Several people have asked about a family picture on here. I'll have to work on that, but for now........here is Mark and I this past winter on a business trip to D.C.

Eyeballs, Puppies, and Bonefish

This past weekend, me, mom, and the boys went to Memphis. For those of you that don't know....that is where I go to get my artificial eyes made. This, however, was the first time for the kiddos to come along. It took lots of convincing, but Eason finally realized that my eye was made from Mr. Thomas (the ocularist) and not God (for it is He who makes everything in the eyes of a 6 yr. old). Mr. Thomas was so sweet to show Eason his drawer full of collectibles. Eason now wants his mommy to get a "University of Tennessee" gag eye. ( The office had a few weird eyeballs out there for Eason to see.......he saw the UT eye, the "cat eye", and also the Harley Davidson eye.) As for me, I think I'll just stick with the 'ol brown eye!!

We also visited the Build-a-Bear workshop in Collierville, TN. The boys LOVE going here. If you've never been, then we highly recommend going sometime. Since the boys want a dog so desperately bad, they both decided to make puppies instead of bears. The picture above is of Eason and Coleman giving their new pets a "bath."

Here are the final products...........Eason made the NBA all-star puppy. He named him Corduroy. Coleman made the other puppy and also named him Puppy.

We also had the opportunity to go to Bonefish Grill with Mimi. I have been telling her about it for a long, long time. She loved it and so did I. I highly recommend the shrimp and scallops with the pan-Asian sauce. And also, you HAVE to order the Bang-bang shrimp appetizer. YUM-O!

By the time we had gotten to Bonefish, Colecat was worn completely out. He fell asleep in my lap in the booth

Blessings

Pictured above are our two blessings, Eason and Coleman. They have brought much joy to our lives each and every day. It is funny, though, how children think of what blessings are. Just the other day, while riding to youth league basketball practice, Eason informed me he was so lucky that he was blessed with a daddy that loved him, and bought him toys and food, and also who built him a new house. I told him he sure was. He then preceded to tell me that he only wished he would've been blessed with a daddy that wasn't allergic to dogs. I laughed so hard I could hardly finish my drive. Whew........what will Eason-man think of next??

Halloween

Eason, the running back
Coleman, the linebacker
Future Auburn football players

This year for Halloween, Eason decided early on that he would be an Auburn football player. When I asked Coleman, he wanted to dress up as Dora the Explorer. Since that was a little weird, I let Eason talk him into being a football player, too! The boys both loved trick or treating in the neighborhood.........especially since Cousin Grant and Ben got to come too! Eason's best friend, Will, came along too. This was Colecat's first go around with trick or treating and boy was he excited. If you don't know Coleman very well, I will tell you that he LOVES candy!!! Suckers especially..........so, every time he would get a sucker he would run back up to the house and get more. Oh well..........we'll try and do better next year.
